A New Direction
Over the past few years, I have been through some things that have profoundly changed me. Because of this, I have been making some changes to this site, one of which is deleting all of my apologetics articles. While I still wholeheartedly believe in the truth of the Bible, I am no longer the person who wrote those articles and my heart is no longer in apologetics.
I used to believe that if people could just see that there is evidence for our faith, their doubts would be eased and it would be easier for them to embrace everything Jesus has to offer. Now I truly believe that the pain inflicted on people by those who claim to represent Jesus is the cause of many, if not all, of those doubts. We can spend our entire lives defending the truth of the Bible, but until we - the followers of Jesus - start living out His love and mercy, it will do little to draw hurting people to Him.

Until we start doing everything we can to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves (Proverbs 31:1-9) and to rescue the oppressed (Isaiah 1:17), the world will continue to see Christianity as a religion that uses clubs to clear specks of dust from the eyes of the wounded while preaching about “truth” with 2x4's in their own eyes (Matthew 7:5). They will continue to view Christianity as a religion that cares far more about image, power, and influence than the pain of people created in God's image. And they will continue to see Christian leaders as people who lord their authority over people (Matthew 20:25-28) and revere men (Matthew 23) to such an extent that they are willing to sacrifice the wounded for the sake of who they see as the "called". The church in America needs an awakening, and it must begin at the personal level where each of us cries out to God, "Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way." (Psalm 139:23-24, CSB)
